Since wethepainted has come down with a case of posting-shyness, I made her a deal. If she would post her latest amazing, gorgeous, breathtakingly beautiful art piece, I would publicly ridicule myself by posting the literary spawn of my nightly musing.

So, remember when Zack posted those pictures from "Panic! at Buch Walker's"? Ace and I were chatting at the time and then this picture was posted and the following exchange took place:

I am so not a writer, but I was pretty enamoured with this (stupid) zombie!verse idea, so later on I sent to Ace the following... thing, which was supposed to be a sort of introduction to Brendon realising that something was not right with his boyfriend:

It all started when Spencer came back from spending a week at Ryan's. The first sign was the craving for entrails (strange, Spencer had always said they were disgusting); the second was the constant scratching of Brendon's head (nice, but it was a pretty vigorous scratching that made Brendon's scalp hurt); then came the gnawing on Brendon's hair in the middle of the night (just plain gross).

And then, once Spencer spilled the bean, Brendon's first reaction to finding out about his boyfriend's condition:

"You know," Brendon scratches his cheek, "all things considered, you got lucky"

Spencer blinks and takes in a completely unnecessary breath "Lucky. You think I got lucky."

"Well, as far as I know, zombies have to dig their way up from underground using their bare hands and, let's face it, you hate getting dirt on your clothes" Brendon says pointedly.

Spencer covers his face with both hands and presses his fingers against his eyelids, hastily stopping when it feels like his eyeballs are sinking way too much into his skull. Fucking Ryan and his dead poets.

After that, Ace kept bugging me about what happened in the "Zombie!fic" (yes, we are that creative), to tell her the whole story. Be glad that you only get to read it in chat-form.

Now, that is the part that I'm completely unable to write because hello? I can sort-of-write just crack. Which is how I spent the rest of our chat coming up with crack-ish scenarios:

And then two days ago I was sort of bored waiting in line at the post office so I emailed Ace an outtake from those ridiculous "Life as a Zombie" experiences.

Ok, you can throw rotten tomatoes and all kinds of soft veggies but please, keep the potatoes and hard fruits to yourself, ok?

It seems that BBB is sucking everyone in a vortex of amazing awesomeness, and who am I to resist the vortex?* I've been trying to comment every fic I read (I'm failing on that front /o\ I'm not good at commenting without sounding like a complete loser) and all the fanart (I'm better with those!).
Speaking of fanart, two of the pieces I drew are up!
One is the fanart for Tilting at Windmills by icanbreakthesky (very, very nice story! Usually I don't read Hush Sound fic much, but I liked the summary and I wasn't disappointed. I really like that she managed to write the characters and make them sound like the teenagers they are. Really, give it a chance :]). The other one is for fiddleyoumust's story "When Life Gives You Lemons (Say Fuck the Lemons and Bail)". I think this is one of the best Brendon/Spencer I've ever read (and I'm not saying that because I drew the art for it). I've read the draft I was sent at least ten times and I thought that there was no way that she could make it more awesome than what it was already, but she totally did! It's beautiful and hurty in the good way and wonderfully written and OMG go read it already/again!!! It also has a wonderful fanmix! I advise you to go download that one first and then read the story with the soundtrack because that way you'll reach Nirvana, trust me!
Also, I fell in love with "You Got a Face with a View" by cloudlessclimes. It made me bawl my eyes out, ok? I've read it twice and I cried both times! If you haven't read it yet, go do it right now! I'll wait.
Oh! And have you read okubyo_kitsune's "Series: Brendon the Cat"? It's amazing! Read that one too!**

Anyway, apart from BBB, I had a sudden urge to change the layouts everywhere. I found this and used the first one for my Twitter and I tweaked the fourth one for my dw. I changed layout on Lj, too, but I'm not happy with it. I wanted something more wallpaper-y, but I didn't find anything that screamed "Me! Pick me!". I'll keep looking. ETA! Found it! I kind of miss the sidebar, but at least it's wallpaper-y :)

I feel like I've been bad on the flist front because I haven't commented much lately. I'll try to make it better tomorrow :)

* Did you know the third episode of Charlie the Unicorn was here? I love this series so much! My sister and I often use Charlie quotes when speaking to each other :D One of these days I'm going to buy this and then I'll have an excuse to yell "SWIM AWAY FUGU FISH! SWIM AWAY!" when pouring coffee out of the moka :D

** after reading that fic I felt like I should go and delete "We Are So Purring", but I didn't have the heart to do it: 1500 words written in a language that is not my mothertongue is kind of a big deal for me. So, sorry. *pets the story* "You're not easy to write, but I love you anyway" *pets the story some more*

It's amazing how many things can happen in two days.
