Remember this meme? Yeah, if it weren't for my to-do-list-writing tendencies I'd have forgotten it, too.

Anyway, three more doodles for that meme!

[livejournal.com profile] of_silverandsky asked for bandom fairies
Remember when I told you that Ryan was a taylor fairy that sew leaves-hat for all the fox cubs? )

[livejournal.com profile] fictionalfaerie asked for Pete being his amazing self
He said he was going to see Alice in Wonderland tonight... )

[livejournal.com profile] sunsetmog asked me for something from her steampunk AU
technically, this is not that )

Ok, three more to go and then I'm done... unless someone sign up for those three still free spots... ETA all spots have been claimed.

OMG YOU GUYS!!!1!
BOXOFMAGIC IS HERE!
There are 23 stories to enjoy and more than three times the artworks to ogle! C'mon! go roll in it!

Also, the story I did artwork for is "A Long Way To Go Before We Are Truly Divine" by [livejournal.com profile] staraflur. My art piece is here, but do check out the other two pieces by [livejournal.com profile] megaloo13.
boy, do I feel like an amateur... *runs off to hide*

On another note, Mtv is stupid and won't let me see the video for "What a Catch, Donnie".

On yet another note, Vimeo hates me and won't load Shane's video >:[ *goes off to find a way to rip it* ETA: ok, the download is kinda slow, but maybe I'll be able to see it.

The only good news from bandom is that Spencer fessed up about Brendon's hips. &them;

First and foremost, I'd like to thank the guy who saved my friend P from being trampled by the moshers. She is small and it was her first concert ever so she didn't know how to react to the moving mass of bodies and she could have been seriously injured. I don't know who you are and you probably won't read this post, but I'd like to say this anyway : thank you so much. She was scared and you took her out of the mosh pit and lifted her up on your shoulders to let her breathe. You are the kind of person that makes me keep wanting to go see shows and be in the main area instead of the sidelines. Thank you.

A little "thank you" goes to the girl who was attached to the barrier in front of me, too. You may be not happy with your squishiness, but it saved my ribs from being snapped, so thank you.

That said, this has been one hell of a trip :D
the day before )
The Day of the Show )

Support Band from Italy: Hey Hey Radio! )
Hey Hey Radio! left the stage and 15 minutes later The Sounds came out

The Sounds )

We waited a bit longer for FOB, but it's not like we could get bored ;)

OMG FOB! )

So, BEST SHOW EVER, YES?

After the show was over we went back to the merch booth (we hopped there when we got in and bought a couple of things in a rush) to see if there was something else we wanted to buy.
If you're interested in the merch stuff, click here )

We also managed to get Hey Hey Radio's cd. Their merch table was near the FOB one and we saw them packing their things away so we run there and asked them to sign us their cd. They were really nice and gave us some pins for free, too :)

And thus end the recap!

I don't have writer's block (actually, I wrote 652 words of dorky!Darwin fic that I don't hate, so...), but this caught my eyes :)

[Error: unknown template qotd]

5 books; or 4 books and an arc )

This past week I went to the cinema twice. On the 8th I went with a friend to celebrate International Women's Day and we watched "I Love Shopping" (she said she really wanted to see it, but if it was too "easy" for me we could choose something else.... I didn't know if should have been offended or not), while on Tuesday I forcedpolitely asked my sister to come with me to watch "Watchmen". EPIC AWESOMENESS OF AWESOMELY EPIC PROPORTIONS! I loved it to pieces (apart from those scenes on Mars... they looked too much like those forwarded slideshows about the meaning of life and God's project for you and whatnot) and I pretty much fell in love with the soundtrack... which is why I uploaded it here for you ;D

So, today I was surfing the internet, looking for funny tees... and then I found one with THE PANIC BOYS AS GIRAFFES!!!!!. IT SHALL BE MINNNNNNNNNE!!! Either I'll do it myself, or I'll buy it with the money from those tattoos I'm going to do next week.

So, since tomorrow I'll be busy with PACKING MY BAG because I leave Saturday morning for the FOB SHOW IN MILAN, this will be the last post until next Tuesday (when I'll probably get up at noon and then try to write a passable recap of the show with pictures).
See you :)

(OMG! First FOB show in Italy EVER!!! And I'll be there!!!!)

Busyday!!!

Remember that art challenge over at [livejournal.com profile] art_bingo? The one titled "It's a Small World"?
Bingo card Lesotho (small)

Yesterday I turned in my response for the prompts I was given. (The bigger version of that picture up there is here)
It was a really funny challenge. I got the Lesotho bingo card and boy, was it hard?
But I really like how it came out (also, I got to draw hands *twirls*) :)

Speaking of drawing.... OMG I GOT ASKED BY THREE PEOPLE TO TATTOO THEM!!!!*does three cartwheels*
One of them is my best friend, and I already did a tattoo on her, but the other two were quite a surprise! They are both people I went to elementary school with (o.O) and they contacted me one after the other. One is a bo-- GUY (he's not a kid anymore! We are all adults! How weird is that?) I played football with a lot, while the other is a girl kids teased a lot when we were younger. She's the one I'm more excited about because this will be her first tattoo (I'm kinda nervous :|).

Anyway, on to other things...

I'd like to thank [livejournal.com profile] unaccompanied_g again for the icons she made for me.
Thank you sweetie! They are fabulous! I love them to pieces!

Just to put something that is not all cheery/happy/exciting in this post, I'd like to make clear that I HATE WRITING AND I WANT TO GIVE UP, OK? but I won't because I'm going to beat this stupid thing into submission! It's a matter of principle!

Also, memetime!
Got this from [livejournal.com profile] of_silverandsky
Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given. )

Galleria Nazionale

My sister and I went to Galleria Nazionale today to see the Darwin exhibition. They set it up nicely. There were lots of prints and original letters and a part of the exhibition was completely dedicated to animal evolution. There were even live animals! We saw a hairy armadillo, a couple of turtles, a bunch of black and blue tiny frogs and a green iguana.
However, what made this little "field trip" of our worth it had nothing to do with the cute animals. I am that kind of person who has to read every info panel, and good thing I am! It's because of this annoying habit of mine that I now know that old Charlie was not, in fact, a boring scientist, but a totally adorkable boy! )
On another note, I finally caved and got a twitter. You can find me here :)
(I'm trying to understand how this thing works... I did it pretty much because I wanted to take camera-phone pics at the fob show on the 15 and let you have a peek because concert-calling any of you would kill my phonebill. Tips are welcome :[ )

Wow... I virtually vegetated all day....
I had a lot of little things to do, none of them important, and I just started a bunch of them and didn't finish even one. I'm in that mindset where I want to do things, but I'm not ready to do them.... This happens to me a lot. It's like, if I'm not keyed up enough to complete a task in a way that will result in an amazing outcome, then it's not the right time to start it. Usually I can work myself up and then focus on one thing and do it, but today I really couldn't. I should be upset with myself , but I'm not... which upsets me >:[

Ok, change of topic!

If you amuse yourself doing art (of any kind, really! Graphics in general count!) and you want a tough challenge with hardcore prompts go to [livejournal.com profile] art_bingo, join the community and leave a comment asking for a bingo card for the "It's a Small World Challenge". The prompts are kinda hard, but that's the beauty of the challenge :) (also, you'll get to learn a lot of things about countries whose existence you weren't aware of :D. If only my Geography classes had been so interesting I might have studied my stuff better. Well, it's never too late.)

Since I'm a lamer who doesn't have anything better to do on Sunday night, have a nice (and hilarious) music meme :) )

I'm always disappointed when I do this kind of meme because the shuffle option on my iTunes must hate me big time. The "answers" are always either hilarious or hilariously accurate (scarily so).

Anyway. You know what's the most hilarious of all of them? The one about my wedding. Because when "Umbrella" came out I was obsessed with it and got my hands on any cover ever done of that song. I was so fixated that I went and burned myself a cd with 16 tracks of Umbrella-covers! Now, I don't want you to be jealous. Why don't you click here and burn yourselves a copy too? I even included coverart :)
And just because I'm in a present giving mood have these versions too:
Amanda Palmer sang it live.
Linkin Park did a cover when they played in London
And someone did a very Cool Mashup titled "Thnks fr th Umbrellas". You can't resist the awesome that is FOB and Rihanna in a single song.

Hello!
[livejournal.com profile] deep_lost is doing an ABCMusic thingie over at her lj and today she recced Vanilla Sky's cover of Umbrella. I was so excited to see Italian music mentioned by someone who's not Italian and we started talking about it and then she asked me to rec her some other artists from Italy.
So I went and put together a mix of Italian music for her. Since it came out ok (I think) I'm going to share it with you all, too :)

cover mix

Italians Do It Better (sometimes)

This is just me babbling about the tracks )

If you want any of them and don't want to download the whole folder, or you want more songs by one of those people up there, just ask and I'll upload them :)

Now, if you read all that you won't mind me lenghtening this post a little more to ask you for a favour, right? Right.
So, I'm going to the FOB date in Milan (YAY!!!) and they just announced that The Sounds will open the show. My problem is that I don't have the faintest idea what songs they're more likely to perform. I have a bunch of their stuff, but since I really like to sing along during shows, I'd like to know what songs I have to "rehearse". Any ideas?
