From Awesome to Utter Tragic

It's amazing how many things can happen in two days.

Awesome: (If you are a member of [livejournal.com profile] failboatsinlove you've probably seen this recc'ed already, but a little pimping never hurt anyone) Go read Sir Brendon of Urie by [livejournal.com profile] airgiodslv! It's knight!Brendon going on a quest to prove himself worthy of Princess Spencer's hand! GOGOGO!!!

Amazing: Two people contacted me today to get tattoos! I'm very excited about it because the tattoos they want are completely different in style (one is organic and the other is a coat of arms). Until now, I've been doing very simple designs so I'm quite happy to get a chance at trying my hand at something different from the usual. It feels like being in high school again and challenging myself constantly to try and master a new craft :)

Nice: I finished the t-shirt I started last Sunday (the one that ended up with me painting on my hand like a 4-year-old). It looks like this
Free Hugs
I got the idea from a t-shirt I saw while checking out one of those "funny tees" sites (we already covered the extent of my lameness the other day). I liked the phrase but not the font, so I went and did my own :)

Good: Bus-Boy texted me today and we are going out tomorrow afternoon for a coffee. I'm... not excited? To be honest, I'm pretty indifferent. Maybe because the last time I went out with a nice boy it turned out that he was a total bore. Hopefully this one will be more entertaining. (It looks bitchy when I write it like that, but what I like in a person is their ability to surprise me and keep me interested. I know it's not nice, but I get distracted very easily :[ ). I think all the flailing last week was more because I did something completely out of character for me than because I had a date. I think I crave excitement more than stability.

Bad: Spring must have decided to go on holiday till Summer because it's been raining non-stop for two days already. The forecast guy said that it will be like this till Friday, wich doesn't bode well for our trip to the seaside :(

Utter Tragic: My iPod is dead. It went batshit insane and doesn't recognize music files anymore. I tried reformatting it eleven times today to no avail. I found the receipt of the purchase and it should be still under guarantee, so I'll bring it to the Apple Store and see if they can do anything to call it back from the Land of Dead Devices. I must say that April is a shitty time for me and mp3 players. The Shuffle I had before died in April too. This is a very tragic occurance because I don't go anywhere without my music. I feel like this week will be a trial. Cheer me up?

Aw no! i'm sorry about your ipod, that is horrible. I'm always terrified that will happen to me because my ipod is getting to it's 2year mark.

I do hope your coffee date goes well though. :) Maybe this guy will be interesting.

Not gonna lie, I made this face --> D: irl. Music is my Energizer, without it I'll fall asleep on the bus :(

*crosses fingers* Let's hope :)

Oh man, that sucks. I don't know what I'd do if my mp3 player died. :(

Here, have some Brendon/Spencer! :D

And baby!Patrick!

That is an awesome tshirt. I so envy you for making it >.<
Anyway, I havent read that fic yet, but sounds promising. I might be reading it when I'm finished with exams and packing. haha.

Sorry about the iPod though :3 I hope it's nothing much to worry about :D

Thank you :)
That fic is awesome! I'm slightly obsessed with mediaval settings at the moment (all Merlin faults!) so this story was ace :D

The iPod better revive itself or I'll chuck it from a bridge >:(

The hell with finishing exams and packing, I read it just now and flailed throughout the entire thing. I couldnt get enough of that fic!

i have a question about the icon >.> the word on it. ist 'rly' or 'fly'? xD

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's fly... if you look closely, there a little swirl-thing on top of the "r", which make it a "f".

"Reading fics > anything else" all the time :D

[identity profile] of-silverandsky.livejournal.com 2009-04-29 08:58 am (UTC)(link)
I thought so, just wanna make sure :3 i was actually hoping that it said rly, because tly bden? flying? xD

I love the shirt! That is so fabulous. My next shirt is totally going to be another Clandestine rip-off, so you're not the only lamer. It's not my fault they weren't selling it on the europe tour, that's practically forcing me to make my own :)

I don't have anything to cheer you up personally, but there's a super adorable Ryan/Jon picspam that made me smile like crazy and Gerard/Frank/Greta period fic, that was really good.

Thank you :) I saw a tutorial for block printing and wanted to try it. I'm thinking of making a bunch of tees like mine to give away :).... (uhm... what's you size?)

I saw that picspam! It's awesome! Proof that Ryan/Jon is canon! I haven't read that fic yet, so I'm going to check it out ;) Thanks, Milly!

Oooh, so you tried printing it first? What did you use to do that? That sounds really cool (and messy *g*). I guess I'm a size XL. It really depends, but that's usually right for women's cut shirts.

I just stumbled over that story a few days ago myself and I can't believe I missed it before! It's really cute and fun.

I used ye olde cardboard!
First I cut out the letters from a piece of cardboard and decided where to place them
Image (http://s120.photobucket.com/albums/o168/nasssty_slyth/Fabricpaint/?action=view&current=IMGP0996.jpg)

Then I spread the paint on the flipside of the cutouts and used them like stamps (since the shirt was dark blue, I blockprinted a layer of opaque white as a base)
Image (http://s120.photobucket.com/albums/o168/nasssty_slyth/Fabricpaint/?action=view&current=IMGP1000.jpg)

when the white layer was dry, I did the same with the blue paint
Image (http://s120.photobucket.com/albums/o168/nasssty_slyth/Fabricpaint/?action=view&current=IMGP1001.jpg)

And then I added the pink "shading" and the other pharse. I think this method is way faster if you want to paint block letters or solid shapes on a tshirt (and you can do lots of them easily and quickly), and you're right, it is pretty messy but as you may have seen, getting paint on your hands makes you revert to a 4-years-old and I've never met a 4-years-old who doesn't have fun with paint :)

I've never read that particular pairing, so I'm quite curious. I'm going to read it tonight to forget about the not-so-cool date I had today ;)

Okay, that looks superfun and I think I'll have to try this! Just as soon as I can go buy a whole bunch of t-shirts because I think there's not a single piece of solid-colored clothing left in my closet left that I didn't already draw on :)

Oh no, your date didn't go well? Do I have to come to Italy to beat the guy up?

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2009-04-30 10:15 am (UTC)(link)
buy a whole bunch of t-shirts because I think there's not a single piece of solid-colored clothing left in my closet left that I didn't already draw on I have the same problem! Solid-colored clothing can't stay plain for long when I'm in the near vicinity :D

The date was... ok? I mean.. he's a nice person, just not my type. So, no beating up needed, but if you want to hop over here anyway, you know... mi casa es su casa ;)
