This may be ridonkulously complicated but a while back (last Feb, in fact, since I was visiting sunsetmog at the time...) I spent about a day working out who I would cast as who in a bandom version of Neverending Story.

I would love, love, love, love to see Brendon as Bastian, curled under blankets, hunched over a book, reading all about Spencer, the fiercest warrior of the Horse people of the plains, trying to find a cure for the Empress Pete before the Nothing destroys Fantasia.

...mostly I just want to see a snuggly!reading!Brendon. *cough* all the rest will be happening inside my head anyway. I've got the cast equivalent written down on a billion scraps of paper somewhere...

...*hangs head* I KNOW, I KNOW. I can spend HOURS telling you about Gerard the Night Hob, dishevelled and kind of stinky, and his bat Mikey who doesn't talk much and stumbles around sleepily. And Frank the Snailrider, with his amazing racing snail Ray, and Bob the Rockcruncher, travelling across Fantasia. And how Gabe the oracle expert tries to help Spencer pass the Oracles, arguing with Vicky T the whole time.

....I will be shutting up now. For reals.

And I feel bad because Ryan is Spencer's horse and he dies in the film and I can't think of anyone for Jon to be!

Now, I've never read the book, just seen the first film, so there may be other characters I'm missing. But these are the ones that have been flitting about in my brain.

Mostly It was Night Hob Gerard and Teeny Weeny Frank travelling around Fantasia together, and Spencer and Brendon flying off into the sunset on Zack's back, chasing bullies down the street. :D

And don't even get me started on the bandom Jamie's Magic Torch, only it's Mikey's Magic Glasses, and whenever he rubs them clean, a magic world opens, with Gerard-esque hermits and Bob-esque bears, and a Prince called Peter with his singing Dragon, Trick. OH GOD MY BRAIN.

OMG! You should totally read the book! It's a bajillon times better than the movie! The second and third movies, on the other hand, you should avoid like the plague. They are horrible and don't have anything to do with the book.

I think the only missing characther is Gmork, but I don't know who you'd cast to play him... Is there a bad guy in bandom?

I have't ever watched Jamie's Magic Torch, but wikipedia tells me that its creator was responsible for Count Duckula and therefore I gather that Jamie's Magic Torch must be awesome :D

I know! I'm getting into Temeraire at the moment, and a random book called Scar Night which looks like it will be wonderful, but after that, Neverending Story is on my to-read list. :D

Why there always have to be a bad guy? Ugh. You could make Bert be Gmork, but I don't know The Used much (plus, Bert is always the bad guy..). Maybe you could use someone who is not really in bandom? Like Brandon Flowers? I think he'd make a good bad guy...

It depends - I like historical/military novels, and I absolutely adore dragons. Temeraire is sort of like Hornblower/Sharpe, with bonus dragonage. Intelligent dragons who debate scientific theory and philosophy. *hearts them* So yes, if that seems like your thing, then yis. That, and the love that Dare Not Speak Its Name between a man and his dragon. (Their love, it is EPIC).

I'm tempted to just leave him as Gmork. When I was wee I thought he was a personification of the Nothing.

Tailor fairy Ryan looks PERFECT (as do all of the drawings ♥)! He's just the way I imagined him to be with the pretty wings and all. The only thing I'm wondering is where's Jon? You know you want to tell me about how he helps Ryan with the fittings! :D? :D?

Jon went to find some berries and tiny pine cones to decorate the hats. He's been trying to figure out how to bring everything in one trip, and he just thought of using a big leaf as a cart and ask a dormhouse to help him tugging it to where Ryan's workshop is :) *goes off to draw that too*
