*I just wanted to look up the spelling on Wikipedia and hey, apparently their names are Tod and Copper in the English original, who knew?! :O

I don't know what the etiquette is in these cases, but whatever, this lj is a place of fun and love and sharing, so I don't think it's a problem ;)
In the Italian version the fox is named Red and the dog Toby :)

Also, I find the whole different names in different countries thing ~fascinating! Why would they change that? It's not like Tod and Copper would be that much harder to say than either Cap and Capper or Red and Toby! Or if they'd at least gone for typical German/Italian names! Oooh Disney movie translators! :D

Me too! I always check on wikipedia to see if the translation of the name was literal or not :) It's very entertaining! Like, in Bambi, the names were all the same but translated in Italian, while in the Aristocats most of them were completely different.
