Blink182 live in Bologna

Are you ready for another lousy recap? I think this one will be lousiest of all! All my reactions can be summed up like this: YOU GUYS! GUUUUUUYYYYYSSSSS! ;____________; I can't even!

Long story short of how K and I got to Bologna: the train was supposed to leave at 10:30, but a carriage broke down and so we left at 11:30. We spent the trip indulging a lady who asked too many questions and then jinxed us by saying "Well, here's hoping this day will end better than the way it started". Damn you, train lady! Damnn you! We ended up catching the wrong bus and then had to do a complete turn-around and once we arrived at the arena, all the spot in the shades were all taken already. Ah, well. At least we got some tan...

Anyway, faily recap! This time the failiness is brought to you by the fact that I don't know the name of a single member of Simple Plan nor Sum 41. Ain't I cool?

Here's a small portion of the people in attendace at 5 pm. According to the news, there were 40000 people by the time Blink182 took the stage around 9:30

Simple Plan stage setup

See the tiny red spot centre stage? That's the singer!

As much as I don't listen to Simple Plan, they were quite enjoyable. I was pleasently surprised :)

The people in this band seems pretty nice. They chatted a lot with the audience and are quite good playing live.

If anyone's interested, they played a song from their upcoming album called "You Suck At Love".

You won't see it here, but at some point someone inflated a condom and then throwed it around like a ballon. The singer seemed preoccupied by the fact that there was a bouncing condom flying over the crowd.

Don't let the sunglasses fool you! He's a serious dude! He made sure to tell us that's not how you use a condom.

Sum 41! I know marginally more about them than Simple Plan. That is to say, I know that the singer is Avril Lavigne's ex-husband. You can start raging a me now.

The only thing in my favour is that at least I knew most of the songs they played

because I used to listen to them when I was in high school

but I was more interested in the music than the people who made it

and that's why I know next to nothing about them.

(bye bye Sum 41)

And now.... BLINK! This was the stage setup

Just before they came on stage, this banner was let down (I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the festival organization)

Boys up on the stage! You guys! 5 years! :DDD

Feeling This

(pretty colours)

The Rock Show

Miss You! Dedicated to the fans :')

We missed you too, guys ;___;

After "Miss You", they played "Stay Together For the Kids". You guuuuuuuyyyyyyys ç__ç I was pretty much in tears. You don't get pictures of that one because I made a video instead.

Down

I really liked the lighting setup for this one because it let me took a few somewhat clearer pics

Creepy Rabbit face.... I think this one was Stockholm Syndrome, but I could be wrong

Uhm... I'll stop with the song commenting. I was too preoccupied with having a blast to keep track of the set list :)

Oh look! A pretty boy surrounded by pretty colours!

Ugh. I really hate being so short. It makes it difficult to see anything...

More pretty colours

The moment you were all waiting for: Mr. Travis Barker and his Flying Drumkit

And it all ended in confetti \o/

Best ever or best ever? I am still starry-eyed *___*

Hee one of my good friends went to see them a couple of weeks ago when they were here, and he STILL hasn't stopped talking about them. And he constantly wears his rubber 'BLINK 182' wristband. *pets both of you* I love getting flaily over gigs.

I will talk about this gig forever, too, no doubt! It was so amazing! I got the button instead of the wristband because if I put something else on my wrists I'll have to drag them monkey-style :P

Concerts re SO EXCITING! I think the confetti picture is really pretty, too.

SO EXCITING OMG! I am still flapping my hands like a demented seal :DDD

SIMPLE PLAN! SUM 41! BLINK!

That's gotta be the most epic concert ever, omg! The SP's vocalist is Pierre. Also I see Chuck and uh, I dont remember his name. If they still have David as the bassist, oh well, he looks different now!

How's Sum 41? I heard that the singer Deryck had an injury the other day, something about herniated disc because he was randomly attacked by someone :/

Lastly.. omg the flying drum kit!! So awesome.

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-09-06 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
Ahah, idk. I actually went to see Blink, I didn't care much for the other bands (ATL opened the concert, too, but because of the the stupid delayed train we didn't get to see them) Simple Plan's songs are okay, I'm just not into their music much (I know, like, 3 songs by them? Four maybe?)

Sum 41 were pretty cool! I'd never seen them live before so I don't know if he was more careful than usual on stage, but from what I saw he seemed to be pretty powered up :)

Flying drumkit! There was general flailing and cheering at the point \o/

Aaaahh looks AWESOME. I'm not a huge fan or Blink-182 and I'm not familiar with all their songs but I was obsessed with their self-titled album(which apparently the fans hated?) back then. And Stay Together For the Kids!! Let's hope we'll get our Panic version some day. <3

Glad you had fun, hun. :)

IT SO WAS!!! I like that album a lot, I never understood why people seemed to dislike it. My favourite is "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket", though.
Oh, a Panic reunion would be grand! *hopes*
