I woke up this morning with a splitting headache and nausea and omg I hate being sick :(
I woke up long enough to reply to a couple of emails and then made a sprint for the washroom D: OMG I HATE BEING SICK! Ugh. Have I said I hate being sick yet? Mum and Lara ganged up on me and pretty much tied me to the bed. I pretty much slept the morning away and when I woke up (in the afternoon!)I told Lara that if I had to stay in bed all day she better come up with something to entertain me because I was going to die of utter boredom! She took my laptop and we watched Coraline (which was lovely! The story was kinda creepy? But I loved the character design!) all cuddled up on Lara's bed. My sister is totally the best! &Lara;

Ok, now that you all know how whiny I am when I'm sick we can pretend that I've never typed that paragraph up there, yes?

Anyway, bidding over at [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti closed yesterday. CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE WHO WON! I've already notified my winning bidders (Hi girls! *waves*) and I am incredibly excited about finding out what they're going to request :D

Also also! HI NEW FRIENDS! I've friended/friended back a bunch of people these past two weeks. I'm sorry if my "friending back" was months-late :( I'm very forgetful and sometimes I'm convinced I did do something when in reality I only thought about doing it. Sorry again!

Oh, I was bored the other day so I made a masterlist of my artworks? It was kinda strange because I thought I hadn't done that much last year when in reality I did a lot (\o/) and also it looks like I have pretty much a one track mind as charachters go (/o\).

Anyway, what have you been up to flist?

That is good to hear!

(I am writing a hedgehog scene. There is no other fic to go with it, but the weather is bad, which I think means: hedgehog.)

:( *hugs* hope you feel better bb!

also i loved coraline, yes the characters looked awesome, and lol even if it was an animation i dont think it was meant for kids, coz yeah, creepy, but it just at my level so i enjoyed it a lot.

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-01-22 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I'm feeling so much better that I'm about to go out with a bunch of friends :) WineBar! Here we come!!!

Coraline is so cuuuuuute! I mean, creepy story, but the design is soooo cuuuuute!!!

[identity profile] wethepainted.livejournal.com 2010-01-24 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh bb, that is not even whining! Whining's what my entries would have been filled with this week if I had made any. (Which is to say that I was sick too, but without any provable symptoms other than horrible crankiness I couldn't even stay at home. /whining :D) Anyway, It's good to hear you're all better! I saw Coraline when it was in the cinemas, and it was indeed lovely and very creepy.

Whee, help_haiti arts! I got all the info and the prompts, but school's holding me back from actually taking my pen to the paper before Tuesday. Are you already working on yours?

I'm very forgetful and sometimes I'm convinced I did do something when in reality I only thought about doing it.
I do that ALL THE TIME.

Your masterlist is a thing of beauty. I noticed it some days ago and stuck a mental note to my forehead to go and make cooing noises at it later.

I forgot (on two separate occasions /o\) to reply to your comments and tell you that art rambling is my favourite thing in the world! Seriously, ramble at me anytime. In the name of honesty though, I have to add that I simply like it when people ramble at me about anything. :D

Hmmm, would you mind if at some point in the not so distant future you found someone rambling incoherently about "charmed forests and boy princes and werewolfes, wtf" to you? Just an innocent question, nothing to do what I have in my mind, nothing at all. *shifty eyes, innocent whistling*

/ramble. Huh, I worried I was going to hit the comment word limit. *g*

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-01-24 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh. I 'm all better now, but are you? *is worried* I hate when I'm cranky with no reason whatsoever >:(
Coraline is brilliant! I love the design so much! I want to draw ten thousand little button-eyed things omg! So, so cute! And creepy! But mostly cute!

I got my prompts and ifo, too! I've already started working on them and I'm so excited :D They are both still at the sketch stage, but I'm fairly confident I can finish them up soon. The only problem I encountered so far was choosing the support (I have a couple of canvases left over from Christmas and I had toyed with the idea of using them, but then I thought better of it and stuck with my trusty, simple paper sheets)

My masterlist was a bitch to compile because I am awful at tagging entries. I had to retag half of my journal before starting to list things and then I had to face the very big problem of "how to compile a masterlist" Do I do it by fandom? By pairing? Chronological order? Do I want to include everything I've ever posted on Lj? It was a nightmare...

Love, you can ramble at me anytime! I love listening to people ramble as much as I love doing the rambling myself :) Also, you better ramble at me about these "magical forests and boy princes and werewolves wtf" right about now! I am intrigued and curious and and *wants*

I love long comments. You are free to hit the word limit as much as you want <3

[identity profile] wethepainted.livejournal.com 2010-01-24 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I know :((( It was actually a combination of lj AND my laptop crashing. I am slowly but surely writing it all over again. *sigh*

Well, I can already tell you to not expect too much from this werewolf & boy prince idea that has taken over my brain. I'm incredibly bad at putting things into words and phrases when in my head they're just a mess of images, sound and mixed letters. MY LIFE, SO HARD. :D

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-01-24 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
My laptop crashed on Friday and I had to reformat. I thank everything that is holy that I did a back-up of all my files on Thursday.

I'm incredibly bad at putting things into words and phrases when in my head they're just a mess of images, sound and mixed letters.
Welcome to the club! Now we can have a party :D

*waits for the comment that was*

I think I am. :) Today's been ok, and tomorrow is a shorter school day so I can come home and sleep it off if it starts up again tomorrow. Being sick is actually pretty funny, because I'm even clumsier and my thought processes even slower. This week I hit my forehead on the wall my bed is positioned against when I sleepily turned to face the wall, and walked into a closet door when I stood up quickly and my vision went all blurry. :D
The crankiness is infuriating. I happened to also be on my period, which made me feel extra-gross and hormonal. Not fun.

I've done a little bit of pencil sketching to get basic ideas down to paper, but nothing real yet. Damned school work keeping me away from my sketchbooks (I should be writing an essay as we speak). I have one problem with the arts which is that I want to do more that I offered (and I might, but shhh that's a secret.) /o\

It looks good! And I was happy to learn that there was still art by you that I hadn't known of. For example I didn't even know you had done HP art (Gosh lady, that bigbangitalia one is simply gorgeous. I actually went "oh!" when I saw it.) I think I'll compile one for myself when I have more art posted, maybe after BBB. Or then get an art journal.

I hope you won't regret saying that later. *g* Hee, well a few days ago I was thinking about the art series Milly did, the Nearly Witches one? and then I found this picture in someone's tumblr and it was all downhill from there.

So, I don't have much and even what I have might change, but I think that Brendon is the prince of the charmed forest, a son of mother earth and he lives in the wish tree valley near the ocean. He has an important job in making sure that all the wishes, hopes and dreams that gather on the stream that falls from the mountainside through the forest get sorted out, packed into star lanterns and hung to the trees that will keep them safe.
Brendon doesn't have to do the actual physical work himself, because there are others chosen for the task, but he likes it. He likes sitting by the water and catching the faintly shining bits that float past him, likes organizing them, and he really likes it when he gets to cradle the fragile stars in his hands and find a place for each one on the branches the arch above his head and all around him.

High and sturdy trees surround the valley from each side, and even thought they're not even meant to work as a fence, they keep the valley pretty secluded. Of course, the forest itself protects the valley and keeps it hidden from those who want harm and harbour dark thoughts. Most of the creatures living in the forest keep away from the area instinctively and make their way past it like they're not even fully aware of its existence.
This explains why Brendon startles so badly when he catches sight of a large wolf standing in the shadows between the thick trees just a few meters away from him on a specific full-moon lit night.

Huh. I should really shorten those sentences. I hope there isn't too many typos. Nothing was read twice and I blame everything on the time of the day! How is it past 2 AM already?

I'll keep that in mind next time I worry about talking to much <3

(also re: comp crashes, wow that's scary! I should back-up everything, but I keep forgetting. My laptop freezes every other day, and I've never actually thought about losing my stuff. The worst scare was when the bookmarks disappeared. I'll have to copy everything into the external hard-drive tomorrow.)

[identity profile] wethepainted.livejournal.com 2010-01-25 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
*the branches that arch
*Of course, the forest itself does its part in protecting the valley and keeps it hidden

Wow, I actually feel pretty woozy after writing that. Kind of like I was having a short flow moment. Oh and I should probably mention that that might be the story I'll try to write for BBB. I hope I'm not breaking the rules by rambling about it. It's pretty silly and odd and I have a feeling there will be large amounts of purple prose and I have no idea where it's going, but oh well.

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-01-25 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
I'll have you know that I love this idea of yours to tiny effing pieces and you'll have to WRITE IT because I can't keep on living without it in my life *is very tragic, but the situation calls for it*

I'm happy to listen to all the rambling about it that you want to subject me to. Actually, I order you to ramble at me about it :D (maybe we could do it by email, so you wouldn't break any rules? And I can try and screen the other comment, too, if you want :))

[identity profile] wethepainted.livejournal.com 2010-01-25 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
&YOU;! I will try my best at poking it into something readable. At the moment I have nothing but those two paragraphs and a couple short descriptions plus two A3 drawings that I started based on the idea before I could come start explaining it with words.

I can and I will continue rambling at you tomorrow safely via email :D (uh, somehow in the middle of this it slipped my mind that I still have a 4 page essay to write and 400 pages of a novel to read and I have 4 hours to do it /o\). And don't bother with screening it, it's only two paragraphs in the middle of me rambling on about other stuff, I doubt anyone is even going to see it besides you. :)

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-01-25 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
OMG! Go do your homework! We can flail at each other later! *sends working vibes your way*

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-01-25 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Ahahah. I am that clumsy by default! I don't know if I ever told you, but my dad thought that I wouldn't make it past 8 years old, because I've always been so clumsy that I ended up in the ER pretty much twice a month when I was little. Now, we take care of my injuries at home because we've become ninjas with butterfly bandages and whatnot.

Doing more art is an everpresent urge, but I wrote a to-draw list to keep myself on track, and it's already almost as long as the masterlist D: I really can't double the art.

Oh, you probably didn't see that one because I never made a post for it. I sort of hate that piece because I didn't enjoy the story very much and making art for it was hard. I pretty much draw it the day before the deadline and I'm fairly happy with how it came out, but I feel like it doesn't fit the story at all. The author was happy with it, but I consider that drawing very much not for that story, which is why I didn't advertise it with a post (it did came out ok, though, and it was in a different style than my usual one, so I thought I could at least acknowledge its exsistence in the masterlist)/rant

[words cannot express the unabashed flailing I'm doing over your idea]

OMG! Do the backup as soon as possible! I live in fear of losing my precious files! That would be the greatest tragedy ever, computer-wise!

[identity profile] wethepainted.livejournal.com 2010-01-25 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
You haven't told me that! I'm glad you survived your childhood alive :D.
I've always been pretty energetic so I, too, had a couple exciting injuries when I was a kid. I actually consider them all pretty funny. (For example I almost fell from a tree, and a broken branch scraped my skin in a long line all the way from my hip to near my armpit. And once I tipped forward in a cheerleading practice when people where lifting me and pretty much ended up flat on my face. When I was 7 I went biking with my parents and fell and I remember going back home and standing in the tub poking at the wound curiously while the blood sluggishly ran all the way to my ankle (we did make a quick visit to the hospital that time so a nurse could pick out the tiny rocks from inside the skin.) Oh and I also fell from a fence and broke my hand and next week I was back up there. That probably shows that I was not only a clumsy kid, but also a foolish one *g*)

OKAY, I'm actually going to go write the damned essay now. I will ramble more at you later! :D
