Happy Birthday (part two)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MILLY!!!
I couldn't help myself so... guess what? You get another present \o/
this would have been a nice drabble if had any writing skill whatsoever. Sadly, you'll have to content yourself with a ramble in writing form
So, Spencer has been baking dessert for the two of them almost every day since they moved in together. Spencer likes to mess around in the kitchen and he's good at it (just like he's good at everything else he does). Brendon can cook, but baking is not really his thing. He gives what input he can by searching baking blogs and finding recipes he wants Spencer to try, print them out and stick them on the fridge with neon colored post-its that say "This!" or "Bake me!" or simply "Please :)". When Brendon has to leave to visit his family or whatever, he calls Spencer after dinner and then complains about not being able to eat Spencer's delicious treacle tart, never-mind that Brendon's mom's baklava has always been his favorite. So, when Brendon wakes up the morning that Spencer has left with Zack to sort out their storage space in Vegas, his first thought after "Ugh, no Spencer :(" is "Ugh, no Spencer's dessert". Spencer and Zack left before dawn and Brendon had woken up only enough to say "Okay, be careful" when Spencer had brushed Brendon's hair out of his eyes and whispered "We are going. I'll call you later" against the corner of Brendon's mouth. Brendon rolls to the side until he reaches Spencer's side of the bed. He rubs his face over Spencer's pillow, pushes his nose into the bedding and just breathes against the cotton; he stays there for a bit, then drags himself out of bed.
Brendon pads down the hallway, bending down to pick Bogart up when he comes running from the living-room. He gets to the kitchen and puts Bogart down before moving to the fridge. He goes to slide his hand around the handle and that's when he notices what's pinned on the fridge. He raises his hand to skim his fingers over the words penned on the yellow scrap of paper and smiles.
Maybe tonight he can just complain about the lack of company.
