She asked me:
1. How long have you been drawing?
I've been drawing since I was really little, but I started to consider it as more than just a thing to do during "art hour" at school when I was 11. I've always been interested in it, mostly because my dad used to paint everyday and I saw it as a way to spend time with him, but as time went on I started to do it just for me :)
2. HOW DID YOU GET SO GOOD AT IT? OMG UR DRAWINGS ARE AWESOME XD
*blushes* Thank you ^///^ I think I have something of a genetic disposposition? No, I'm kidding. My whole family is well versed in artistic stuff, so it was kind of expected that I'd be good at something art-related. That meant that I've been nudged and encouraged to try my hand at a lot of things, drawing and painting being the most obvious since I had a natural disposition for them. I think an artistic environment helps a lot, but you also have to stick with it. I try to draw something everyday and I always try to do my best.
Getting feedback from people whose opinion is not biased is also very good. My mom always tells me that what I do is beautiful, but since she is my mum she won't ever try and deconstruct my work and tell me what's lacking or wrong, what aspects of my style I should work on and so on. My sister is usually pretty good at all of the above; when I was in art school it was easier to find someone willing to give me concrit, mostly because everyone was looking for the same thing and I could get loads of differt perspectives. The best way to get that now is walk up to a complete stranger and ask for their opinion, but it can be tricky since some people can't tell you anything beside "oh, it's nice"/"I don't like it".
3. Do you have a deviant-art account?
Yep! My DA page is here. I've been having some problems with the uploading process so I haven't updated in forever. Hopefully, I'll find out how to solve this situation and I'll be able to post some stuff soon :)
4. Are you part of any other fandoms?
I'm somewhat active in the Merlin fandom and I was pretty invested in the HP one. I kind of fell out of HP, but if I somehow stumble over a good story I'll be over it like white on rice. I used to flirt with some anime/manga-related fandoms (Saiyuki, anything by Kaori Yuki, Hanakimi, Wolf's Rain, I'll) too, but I haven't done anything in that part of fandom in years...
5. What's your favorite disney movie?
If we are talking old-school cartoon movies, The Sword in the Stone! Among the new-era ones my favourite would be either The Emperor's New Groove or Hercules. In the live-action cathegory, my favourite would be "The Fighting Prince of Donegal". If you want my disney-favourites in other cathegories (such as shorts featuring classic characters, musical shorts, comics and whatnot) feel free to ask me :)
There is also this other meme that keeps popping up on my flist
You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out.
1. First Name: Nastasia, but hardly anyone calls me by my real name; even my mum uses the nickname my sister gave me (Sowelu, read so-WEH-loo). Mostly, people keeps giving me nicknames and basically forget about the real one. At one point, I answered to 7 different names. It should be confusing, but it's kind of nice :)
2. Age: 23! But if I go to a pub or to the cinema to watch a movie rated +16, I get asked for my ID card because nobody believes I'm actually an adult.
3. Location: Rome, Italy. I love it a lot, but I really want to move somewhere very far from here.
4. Occupation: I'm a language and literature student currently attending my final year at university. Also, I'm a tattoo artist (I have to pay for those expensive uni books!)
5. Partner: AHAHAHAHAHAH! Look, I'd really like to have one, but finding one is pretty much a quest.
6. Kids: I'd love to have a bunch. My sister and I are of the opinion that the more the merrier, mostly because we are just two and don't have many cousins and we feel like a big family would be lovely. Ideally, I'd like to have 5, but I'm pretty sure I'll have to stop at 3. Also, there's this pesky partner-finding business...
7. Brothers/Sisters: one younger sister, Lara. We used to fight a lot when we were younger, mostly because she's very affectionate and I'm kind of a bitch when it comes to personal space and people invading mine. Now we are pretty close and she kind of my partner in crime.
8. Pets: two dogs. Billy is around 16 years old and kind of my favourite. Milla is 4 and she's a nightmare, but I love her anyway. Billy used to be my grandparents' (who had gotten him from my uncle who rescued him from a garbage bin), but then we moved in with my grandpa and when he died Billy became ours. Milla was rescued from the streets by my aunt when she was just a little puppy, but since my aunt didn't have a garden, mum took her in and she's been with us ever since.
9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
- Uni: it's my final year and I'm kind of a whirlwind because I really want to get my degree and just move on.
- Tattoos: I'm starting to enjoy this line of work and I think it could really go somewhere.
- Fandom: I love how it makes a lot of things in my life more enjoyable. I also love how it makes me feel part of something bigger and cool and fun. There are lots of things coming up right now, and I've never been more happy to have a long to-do list :)
10. Parents: Mum sells wigs and dad is a tattoo artist. They are so cool that my friends have them friended of facebook.
11. Who are some of your closest friends: My Little Twin! We have been friends since we were three years old and we are still going strong :) I don't know what to say about us beside the fact that we are each other's rock. I think the best thing about our friendship is that we always get eachother, and even when we don't agree on something, we still respect each other's opinion and never let it ruin our relationship. It nice to know that there is someone who will always support you, nevermind what you do :)

1. What's your favourite Disney movie?
Well, my favorite Disney Movie is...I have too many! For cartoons, it's Alice in Wonderland and the Lion King; for 3D is 'UP' (I think this is becoming my favorite movie everr) and for live action, definitely Mary Poppins and Who Framed Roger Rabbit :D
2. What is your favourite dessert?
Chocolate cake...Yum...
3. What prompted you to open failboatsinlove? (you are a great mod, btw :D)
Well, I'm a big fan of the pairing and I was a bit sad when I found out that there wasn't a community dedicated to the pairing or where fans could get together and talk about them, post fics/recs/pictures etc (most of the communities that I know are for posting fics and that's about it) . Then I started talking to
Thanks ^_^ I try to come up with stuff to keep the community from dying, so that means a lot to me.
4. Are you active in any other fandom?
Well, maybe a little bit? I've been active in Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, Final Fantasy 7-8, Harry Potter, Kingdom Hearts, Ocean's Eleven, Star Wars and Star Trek XI, posting recs and that's about it. Bandom is definitely the fandom I've been most active in.
5. Will you make a failboats-sims update soon? I loved the last one :)
:D! I sure will! I didn't think a lot of people were interested in it but I definitely will soon! My Compaq's Hard-drive got kinda fucked up so I had to reinstall the whole system from scratch (same with downloading all the stuff that I had for my sims) :( it was a sad day, for sure

I'd like to move to the UK or somewhere in the US, preferably Chicago (because there is an Art School there that I drool over). Mostly, though, I'd like to move somewhere where I can still feel at home. I just want to change the scenery for a while :)
After getting my degree I plan to step up the focus on the tattoo thing, but secret plan is to apply for a job at Disneworld. I'd really like to work at EPCOT :)
My to-do list features: an old prompt from
Good luck with your exams! I'm going to have my first midterm on the 10th (probably, the date is not confirmed yet) but I do not want to open the book. I hate Romance Philology >:(

You were in manga fandom? I didn't know that!
I'll be over here patiently waiting for all of those things *sets up camp*
My to-do list has 4 art things (one that I sadly missed the deadline of, because it happened to be in the middle of a really busy week of school assignments that was followed by this exam week :(), one commentfic to clean up (the one we commentficced, actually) and also another commentfic to write for
Thanks! Same to you, sweetie. I have maths and physics. I used to be great at both and then I sort of... got lazy. /o\

You just filled my heart with unadulterated JOYNESS! *spins and spins*
I was! I used to read loads of mangas but since the volumes were really slow to come out, I turned to fanfics and my drawing style back then was heavily influenced as a result. I'm trying to pic some of those aspects back up because there were some things that I really liked about it, but without loosing my personal style :) Were/are you in that fandom, too?
Oh! Commentfic! I'm setting up camp too :DDD
I used to be a genius at Math; not so much at Physics, though. I'm sure you'll do great sweetie!

I used to read some manga, mostly stuff my friends recced, but I have to admit it's always been something I've appreciated without ever really getting into. Most of my friends still read a lot of manga though, and I get to enjoy the excitement from the sidelines :) So no, I haven't been in the fandom myself (bandom's my first), but Z's slowly becoming fannish and sometimes reads and links fics and fanart to me.
Ooh, sounds interesting! It's cool when artists mix things from other styles into their own.
