This seems to be everywhere :)

The problem with LJ: We all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about one another. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

In other news, I feel like I should print some flyers with the basic steps to ensure nobody dies of asfixiation when attending lectures at uni. Really, is it that difficult to take a shower in the morning? Or wear clothes that don't smell of last week's stale sweat? Or use deodorant? And no, spraying your mom's primrose eau de toilette all over yourself to cover the odour of your hate for everything soap-related is not acceptable >:(

I'm kinda scared by TYV's upcoming album. I like Change better than this new one... and Change's not my cup of tea. I feel like a bad fan :/

I think I've reached my personal lameness record this past weekend. Most 20-somethings would go party, but not me. No. My weekend was spent reorganizing my wardrobe, watching silly cartoons (Kung Fu Panda, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Happy Feet) and crocheting. At least I now have a new hat?

Today, both mum and I were going home at the same time, so I called her and asked if I could hitch a ride on her scooter. She said "Sure baby, but do you have a helmet?" and no, I didn't have one with me, was there a spare helmet over at the shop? Her answer was "Mmmm... I'm sure we can come up with something". The "something" turned out to be an upturned salad bowl covered with a black plastic bag to make it look less like an upturned salad bowl. I wish I had pictures to show you because it was truly hilarious :D &mum'sideas;

So, what's the most hilarious thing you ever did with your mum?

What is your favorite Disney movie? :D

At least you are somewhat productive! I spent the last several days playing hours upon hours of Legend of Zelda.

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2009-10-20 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
TOUGHEST QUESTION EVER OMG! Cartoon wise, probably "The Sword in the Stone" (the scene with little she-squirrel breaks me everytime ç__ç but oh, the amazingness that is the wizard's duel! And the despodent sugar bowl! And Sir Pellinore's wriggling mustache! And and); if we are talking movies with real actors, then it's The Fighting Prince of Donegal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fighting_Prince_of_Donegal) :)

Legend of Zelda! I never played the game, but I loved the character design! Link was the first thing I ever painted on a tshirt :D

Confession: I've actually only see Sword in the Stone once and I'd never even heard of The Fighting Prince of Donegal. :(

The Legend of Zelda games are so good! I mean sometimes they make me scream at my tv (WHY DID YOU RUN OFF THAT CLIFF I WAS TRYING TO MAKE YOU GO THE OTHER WAY ARRRGH) but they're pretty much the whole reason I got an N64 again. (LOL SUCH OLD TECHNOLOGY!)

But maybe I'm just biased because it was my first (or second!) fandom? ;)

OMG! How can you live with that? Aren't you ashamed? WATCH IT AGAIN RIGHT NOW! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujz6rl-rThM)

I have that same reaction when I play with my old copy of Spyro the Dragon! The best thing is that I tend to move my body along with the character's ^^

OMG THE SWORD IN THE STONE!!!!! loved that movie as a kid, want to see it again real bad D:

in other news, hello!

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2009-10-21 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
Why don't you watch it HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujz6rl-rThM)? ;)

Hi bb :D

[identity profile] wethepainted.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I tried to think of something to ask, but I got distracted by Disney (I had never seen the Sword in the Stone. I know, I'm terribly ashamed of myself *g*. But now that I have watched it, I can say that it was great!)
Okay I have 2 random questions, just something I'm curious about, so you can choose either. 1)What do you want to do for a living? 2)Do you have a tattoo(s) or plan to get tattooed?

Two or so summers ago mom and me had to break into our house because we had forgotten the keys. Fortunately she had left their bedroom window ajar and I was just small enough to climb through it. It was quite a spectacle and of course our next door neighbours witnessed the whole thing. :D

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, a lot of my friends haven't seen that many Disney movies either and everytime it comes up I'm left wondering if maybe I'm the one who had a strange childhood, having Disney practically pumped into the womb....
Anyway... Isn't ARCHIMEDES THE MOST AMAZING OWL EVER? Also, the skinny, hungry, oh-so-unlucky wolf! And the dish-washing scene!!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH!

A-ehm... yes, the meme.... I would love to be a children-book author; if that is not to be, then I want to open a shop and sell hand-made things :) Also, I have 2 tattoos (one behind my right shoulder and one on my left ankle). I plan to get my third (and last) one when I'll get my degree :)

Mums are awesome!

[identity profile] wethepainted.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I watched a lot of Disney movies as a kid (and later), but not nearly as much as I watched Moomins. Moomins were my thing :D
Archimedes was my FAVOURITE! And I loved Mad Madam Mim and the duel! Watching that was a great way to spend an afternoon. Now I'm gonna start watching Bambi 2, which I haven't seen before either.

You'll be a great children-book author! I've only seen little bits of your writing, but I already believe you have the perfect writing style for it. It's my dream profession too, or more accurately it has become one in the past year :) Both of those sound like awesome things to do for a living.
3's a good number, I think. I really want to get tattooed but I'm afraid of the pain and unsure of what exactly I want in my skin. I have an idea that I'm fairly sure about, the specifics are just a little blurry.

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Moomins, Moomins.... did they look like hippos or horses or something like that? I'm not sure I've ever seen them, but the name reminds me of a whitish hippo/horse...

Bambi 2 is lovely! Not as good as the original one, but it's one of the few Disney sequels that I can watch without grimacing.

Hee, thank you ^///^ I'm currently toying with a project involving bees and classical fairy tales (I've alredy rewritten Little Red Riding-Hood), and another one where the main character is a wireless computer mouse named Bit (this one is totally the story of my heart, but it's hard to work with because it has a sad premise...) Also, I get to do the artwork, which is always a plus :)

Getting tattooed is... a nice kind of pain? I don't know. It hurts, yes, but it is bearable and idk... after a bit I actually enjoy the pain.
Tattooing, on the other hand, is exhilarating from start to finish :D Even the cleaning/sterilization is fun...

[identity profile] wethepainted.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, they're the hippo looking ones! They were really quite popular here when I was a kid.

I'm expecting good things! The sequels never seem to live up to the originals. It always feels like they're a bit forced or rushed, which is a shame.

OMG Bit the computer mouse sounds like the most adorable character ever! You should post parts of those, they sound really interesting. Hahah, getting to do the illustrations would be half of the fun :D

I think I need to get something small first to try it out. The problem is, I have too many ideas. If I ever get to come to Rome, I'll have you tattoo me if you're up for it!

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, this one is actually a midquel, so at least there are no improbable new characters...

Of course I'd be up for it! You'll get the special friend discount ;)

Mhmmm... well, this is how the story starts:

Bit is a mouse. Actually, he's a wireless mouse. The first in his family to be born without a "tail". Which is why he was set aside from his parents and kins and put in the bargain bin.

~*~

Being the first in his family to be born with something missing wasn't easy. At first, he thought that maybe the "tail" would grow later, when he'd become big like his dad, a grey mouse with two big buttons and a rolling ball on his stomach, a sturdy cable ending with a plug coming out of his snout. Bit is really tiny, black and with no tail to speak of. His mum tried to console him telling him that he took after her, what with the scrolling wheel on the top of his head, so similar to hers.
After all the time spent hiding from the other mice who made fun of him, he's almost relived when the girl who worked at the store they all lived in picked him up from the shelf and brought him out of the storage room, away from his family and the jeering.

~*~

Life in the bargain bin wasn't much of an improvement on the one he had lived in the storage room. Even if he didn't have to stand the other mice mocking him anymore, in the bin no one took the time to even look at him. Most of his bin-mates were cables, way too entangled in their own lines of thought to pay attention to a cableless little thing like Bit, and the few Pen Drives that were scattered around were new, so they didn't have anything to say.
Bit didn't know how long had passed from the day of his arrival in the bargain bin; he only knew that the days passed and that his family members (the ones with the cables) were chosen by the people and taken away, while Bit was left in the bin, surrounded by overbearing cables and dumb Pen Drives, as if he didn't exsist.
And then one day, a day like any other, Bit felt himself being pulled up and out of the bin by a little hand. A kid was looking at him with a satisfied smile brightening his face.
"Daddy, I want this one."

~*~

Bit is very excited about being picked up by a kid and put to use; that explain his double-clicking issues. He can't help himself....
A single click is ok, but two are funnier and if he does them in quick succession the sound is even cuter (cli-click, cli-click...). Bit would do anything for this kid who chose him among all other mice, and Kid (Bit doesn't know his name yet. Kid's mum calls him Mybaby and Kid's dad calls him Myboy) often has a frown on his face when he's pushing down Board's keys, so Bit does what he can to cheer Kid up. Double clicking is the funniest thing he can do, so he does it at every possible occasion, sometimes even when Kid is aiming for a single click. When it happens, the frown on Kid's face goes away and it's replaced by a confused expression, complete with a raised eyebrow, and Kid picks Bit up and shakes him (it tickles, and Bit will admit that he likes this part almost as much as Kid's smile, which never fails to make an appearance after the shaking). Bit is convinced that the noise he makes when he's being shaked, the one that make it sound like his belly is full of tiny pebbles, is the direct cause of the smiling.

And this is why I should just give up /o\

[identity profile] wethepainted.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
No, you should never give up! I really like how you're writing is so lovely and sweet even when you start with something sad. This story reminds me of the Ugly Duckling, but it's more modern. Like how being different doesn't mean there isn't a place for you, you just maybe haven't found it yet. (Also, I made ridiculous cooing sounds at the Mybaby/Myboy part) ♥

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
It's just that I'm actually a giant marshmallow... I may start with something sad, but then I have to fix it!
Hee, the Ugly Duckling! I love that story ♥!
Ahahah, I love that part too, but it's not like I can coo over my own writing...

[identity profile] wethepainted.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I love that story too! And you know, sometimes it's good to admit to yourself that you are, in fact, totally awesome. *nods solemnly*

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I bow to your wisdom :D

[identity profile] toodelicious.livejournal.com 2009-10-24 11:57 am (UTC)(link)
what's your favourite dvd ever?/ why? (;

In other news, I feel like I should print some flyers with the basic steps to ensure nobody dies of asfixiation when attending lectures at uni.
that sounds ...really bad. my thoughts are with you!

haha alvin and the chipmunks. hello childhood. i used to love it ;P

your mum is made of win!

the most hilarious thing i ever did with my mum?
we baked christmas cookies for our family... ( and ate them up all by
ourselves ) boring much? LOL

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2009-10-24 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, that changes every week... but I'd say if there is a dvd that I watch at least 6 times-a-year (and quote pretty much daily) it's "Murder by Deaht (http://www.amazon.com/Murder-Death-Peter-Falk/dp/B00005RDRO)".

He, sometimes it's nice to revisit childhood memories :)

Mum is awsome :D And hey, baking cookies and not leaving any for the others is awesome too!
