Top 5s

It's time to post the aswer to the "Top 5" meme :D

[livejournal.com profile] angelgazing wanted to know my Top 5 OTPs:
1. Brendon/Spencer (they are such boys!)

2. Kurt/Puck (but I do ship Kurt with Mike as well)

3. Ashlee/Pete (they are so cute, I can't even)

4. Harry/Draco (you can't beat the classics)

5. Arthur/Eames (Yeah, I know I should have waited to see the movie. What can I say? My flesh is young and the spirit is weak.)

[livejournal.com profile] saba1789 wanted to know my Top 5 Brendon/Spencer moments:
1. That time they had a sleepover and shared the sofabed

2. That time Spencer fed Brendon

3. That time they shared a drum kit

4. That time they made the fans happy

5. That time they made it way too easy for us

and my Top 5 people to hug
1. My sister! (you even get a picture of us as tiny babies)

2 and 3. Mum and Dad

4. An old friend from high school who I haven't seen in 5 years.

5. My grandma Clara. She was a champion hugger.

[livejournal.com profile] coreopsis wanted to know my Top 5 most difficult people to draw:
1. Gerard Way. His features are so peculiar, it's really hard for me to pick his face apart... It's a real shame because I really like the visual theme of BP, but since I was unable to draw Gee well, I never got to play in that particular sandbox.

2. William Becket. I tried to draw him once, but I never found the right balance between elfin and dorky. He either looked like an extra from LOTR, or way too similar to the tenth Doctor.

3. Brendon Urie. I love drawing him, but getting his face to look right is an excercise in patience. I think my problem with him as a subject is that I learned to draw him in a certain way and never straied from that first model, rarely modifying the features to match the changing ones in the rl subject. That's something that bothers me a lot because sometimes, I start drawing Brendon and end up with something that practically looks like an OC.

4. Arthur Pendragon. I'd love so effing much to draw him right just once, but I never manage to get the curve of his nose right. Noses are hard to draw anyway, but his especially so! It's not straight, and it's not aquiline, but there is a barely-there arch that makes his face structure so very balanced... and I NEVER GET IT >:(

5. Any Disney character. People always say that Disney characters are so easy to draw, BUT IT'S A LIE! There are so many styles to take into account and the basic undercurrent theme of curved-lines-that-never-curve-like-you-expect-them-to. I adore drawing Disney characters like nothing else, but getting them to look like themselves is not easy and most of the time, I find that drawing them in "my style" is even harder.

and my Top 5 most fun people to draw
1. Spencer Smith! He is fun to draw because he has a very lean frame and I enjoy making his body follow a sinuous line. I also love drawing his forearms! And his hair!

2. Greta Salpeter. I don't draw her much, but when I do it's always a joy, mostly because I really like drawing curly hair and hers is so pretty! I also enjoy dressing her in cute skirts and boots

3. Kurt Hummel. Again with the hair (it's pretty much a theme with me) but also, I love this character attitude which makes him a very fun person to draw. He's the kind of subject that express himself a lot with hand gestures and posture, not to mention his eyebrows. He also gets point for his outfits, which are a true joy when it comes to drawing patterns and textures :D

4. Cain Hargreaves from Kaori Yuki's Count Cain/God Child. I love Yuki's style like burning and this character is just plainly amazing. Back when I was young and naive, I used to download scans of her tables and then try to copy them. She wrote lots of mangas, but I think God Child was the best series she produced and the complexity of the drawings she did for it astound me. I still hope to one day be even a tenth as good as her /fangirling. The reason I like to draw Cain is that he dresses smartly, with lots of layers and props and that is always a plus! He also has nice hair ;)

5. People from RL. I like to draw my friends so much! It's fun because I know them well enough to sketch them without the aid of a reference picture, plus it's always fun to pick a mannerism and then make it the focal point of the drawing. Generally, it makes them happy to receive them, too :)

[livejournal.com profile] squashbee wanted to know my Top 5 favourite foods:
1. Lasagna! It's a typical dish for family reunion Sunday lunch, but we eat it pretty much whenever we like :)

2. Spaghetti alle Vongole (Spaghetti with clams). This one might be my very most favourite pasta dish.

3. Polenta con Salsicce e Spuntature (Polenta with Sausages and Ribs). This one is usually eaten in Winter.

4. Tagliata all'Aceto Balsamico (Tagliata Steak with Balsamic Vinegar). I eat this one very rare. So rare that it practically moos still.

5. Tiramisu. I am going to be crass and say that this can bring your tongue to climax.

Well, that was fun. If you have other questions, please feel free to ask! I'll answer you in the comments, though, because I am lazy :P

It really is the party of the year! I've been in and out of fandoms for ages, ok, ages. I remember before there was a fandom for Supernatural! I remember being judged for shipping Sam/Dean! I have seen a lot of fandoms from the ground up, but I have never seen anything like Inception. It just EXPLODED, and I'm still kind of baffled by it. The [Unknown site tag] meme has been averaging 5000 comments to their prompt post in a matter of days.

And it's not all fantastic, but ZOMG SO MUCH OF IT IS.

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 09:55 am (UTC)(link)
I've never seen anything like that either! It's like I went to sleep one day and the next day, BAM! INCEPTION CIRCUS IM MY YARD! I'm awfully giddy over it, too :DDD

[identity profile] angelgazing.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
HEE! A SURPRISE INCEPTION CIRCUS! The idea of that just makes me ridiculously happy, I cannot even tell you. :D The entire thing is just a joy. I love it so much. ♥

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
AND WHAT A CIRCUS IT WOULD BE! (No really, can you imagine how a circus would work in dreamscape? It would be so amazing!) I am so happy I could burst! I am practically lurking on a bajillion of communities and actually toying with the idea of signing up as an artist for the bigbang... Hopefully someone will talk me out of it!

[identity profile] angelgazing.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I have been begging people to talk me out of signing up to write for the big bang! I want, want, want, my god, but then it's like... it doesn't post 'til January! There would be months between finishing the story and posting. I think I'd go nuts. I barely manage with Remix, and I help mod that one.

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
...you could write more than one and then post one as the big bang fic an the others just for us :D? :D?

[identity profile] angelgazing.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
But, but, but there is still a huuuuge gap between the "OMG, FINISHED THE FIC!" and then the posting. And posting is scary enough when I don't give myself time to freak out over OMG WHAT IF IT ISN'T RIGHT? IT'S PROBABLY BAD. OMG, I SHOULD REWRITE THIS SCENE FOR THE BILLIONTH TIME. I get poster's anxiety. It's very distressing.

Though, for that matter, I don't see why you couldn't do art. Seriously, I bet your Arthur/Eames would be amazing.

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
ok, how about you sign up and then write multiple fics and post them whenever they are ready and then, when the draft check in is coming up, you start working on the real bigbang story? (I just need more fic, I'm going to come up with alternative plans until you say yes, jsyk)

I... am biding my time? I have 'till November to decide, right? (spoiler: I have already mentally caved to the inevitable, I'm just waiting for the sign up post to go up. /o\)

[identity profile] angelgazing.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I assume you're totally and completely spoiled for the movie? I've been wanting to write this story since I read the theory. This is what's making me sad though! Thus far, I have no Arthur/Eames bunnies, no matter how hard I am shipping! I don't even know what's up with all of that.

(Oops, you used the wrong thing there, I think what you meant was \o/)

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Not completelky spoiled, I pick things up here and there (I'm pretty sure when I'll finally see the movie it will be a total trip!). That theory is pretty awesome! I'd totally read that! As for the bunnies, I'm not very good at coming up with them :( unless they are AU. Maybe you can pick one of the other prompts?

(no no, it's totally /o\ because I have no resistance to these things! We are at the point where as soon as hear about a bigbang challenge I go "weeeeeee \o/ Collaboration! Deadlines! Woohoo!" It's a very sad thing to see)

[identity profile] angelgazing.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I have nothing against AUs! At this point, I'd be tempted to write the Inception circus! The Inception team as wedding planners (taffeta makes Arthur break out in hives, so Eames wants to use it everywhere all the time)! The one where they use the PAVIS to send you into video games instead of dreams, and people pay lots of money to get three lives and a chance at leading a fake army, and Eames gets totally hot for how much Arthur kicks ass and takes names at zombie games, and Arthur keeps threatening to kill him for not mentioning that there would be zombies (he wouldn't have worn his new tie, dammit, nevermind that the blood isn't real). I want a billion and two words of Arthur and Eames snarking and bantering and then making out! But I can never figure out how to get from [vague idea of a story] to ARTHUR/EAMES FOREVER OTP!!!

...Actually, come to think of it, that could be the problem I'm having with the bakery fic. Puck too busy baking things and pining to get with the making out!

(I am the exact same way when I see a big bang challenge! Only then I sign up and never finish the fic. /o\)

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I am absolutely unhelpful on the plotting side, sorry :( Me and writing don't get along overly well (I'm actually surprised I managed to write more than 400 words of that glee fairytale), but OMG WEDDING PLANNERS! That would be so so amazing! I would draw the shit out of it! And the videogames thing is so awesome too! Like, they get hardcore nerds as clients and they end up in really awful games too! Maybe one of them is totally nuts about SuperMario but, like, the GameBoy version from the 90's so they end up being just a clump of pixels? Maybe they end up working for a client who really likes The Sims! I love your brain!

Puck better take his hands out of the dough and actually do something! Like lick off that smear of icing from Kurt's upper lip. That would be a good starting point, no?

(challenges are my kryptonite, trufax)

[identity profile] angelgazing.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL Wedding planners would be the most cracktastic ever! Cobb vets everyone to make sure it's true love, and Arthur makes faces at anything nontraditional, and Eames wants to turn it all into a circus! Except all my attempts at crack tend to get feelings. I don't know what that's all about. Oh, oh, oh, I have thought sort of a lot about the videogames one, too. There totally would be like, the original Super Mario! And some spoiled billionaire paying their obscene fees to play like, Duck Hunt. Eames laughs and laughs and dreams Arthur into an Elmer Fudd hat, because he's cruel. And then there are serious assignation plots within the games that someone's subconscious is playing out in a mirror of RL so they have to also solve the mystery to stop a murder and not get killed in the process! Mostly though it would be about running from zombies and shooting things. It'd be like Gamer, but with less Gerard Butler and mind control. Plot is hard. I've been writing like, half my life, you'd think I would have it figured out by now.

Also, also, OMG I want that fairytale so, so, so bad. SO BAD. I can only flail about it, because words cannot express.

BWAH! Funny you should mention that, since, seriously, last night I wrote a food fight involving Skittles and candy hearts. And this:

Kurt laughs again, bright and happy, the way Puck thinks he should always be. He crushes candy pieces under his designer boots when he walks around the table again to get to Puck, his arms held wide and his hands empty. "Face the terms of your surrender, Puckerman," he says, like he doesn't doubt for a second that it's a fate Puck will gladly submit to.

Puck pulls him in with an arm around his shoulders. Kurt may be taller than Puck now—barely—but he's still rail thin to the bulk Puck's never been able to give up. When Puck tugs, he comes easily, winding his open arms around Puck's middle. The hug isn't crushing, but it's something Puck wants all the time and can't have, so it's punishing. He opens his eyes to look over Kurt's shoulder to find Quinn and Brittany watching, arms linked and heads tilted toward each other, and Puck holds on too long, but no one says a word about that.

"Oh, this is so going on the Christmas card this year." From the doorway, Matt snaps a picture with his phone, because he's an asshole and wants Puck to suffer.

Kurt chuckles, and it's almost that awkward nervous laugh from high school. He pats Puck's back once, then again, and ducks his head down to finally wipe the batter off his jaw with Puck's shirt.

"I deserved that," Puck admits, because he's totally capable of being the bigger man, when he needs to. He squeezes Kurt a little tighter, just for a second, before he lets him go, because he doesn't really want to. "Now, how about you three clean up the mess you just made?" he asks, and he even uses the boss voice he's tried to learn from Kurt's dad. He's not really hoping for a lot of success, which is good because he gets exactly none.

I am the sappest sap to ever sap. /o\ I will stoop spamming you with this now, I swear.

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I WANT ALL OF THOSE! Crack is at its best when it gets feelings, okay? Never ever think otherwise! I am a card-carrying member of the Crac & Feelings Club :D

The fairytale is coming along at a really slow pace, but today I told it to my sister and she was hearteyeing my words so maybe it's not completely horrible. I'll try to finish writing it in my notebook while I'm away and then I'll show you it, yes?

OH PUCK! YOU UTTER, UTTER PRESCIOUS YOU!

NEVER EVER STOP SPAMMING ME! I DEMAND YOU TO SPAM ME DAILY!

[identity profile] angelgazing.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
HEE! My issue with my crack getting feelings is that it tends to stop being funny. Which makes me sad, really. Being funny is hard. With other people, I'm just like \o/!!! I don't really get my brain sometimes, but I suspect it hates me.

YES! YES x 10000! I am so excited for this! I will try to have the bakery story done for you when you come back, in exchange. THEN I WILL BE HAPPY YAY!

HEE! I MIGHT BE ABLE TO DO THAT FOREVER, SINCE PUCK IS APPARENTLY GOING TO GO ON PINING FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER.

He's such a boy.

[identity profile] aredblush.livejournal.com 2010-08-12 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
AHAHAH, that's totally my problem too! Fairytale started all super happy and then feelings happened, so it lost a bit of comedic flair. Hopefully I can still stick some snark in it...*crosses fingers*

THAT IS THE BEST DEAL I'VE EVER BEEN OFFERED! I AM TOTALLY DOWN WITH IT! :DDD

SPAM ME ALL YOU WANT! I'LL NEVER SAY NO TO BOYS BEING BOYS! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
