Ahah, learning the lingo was so much fun. I was so glad for schnoogle's FAQ, they had a lot of things listed for newbies. I still don't get some of the name mashing o_0 especially when I'm new to a fandom. And sometimes there's so many different variants for one pairing that you don't know what to use. Or how some people put importance if you say H/D or D/H.
