I don't get the twitterhit thing either. In some cases I can at least see the connection, like I get followed by a lot of cooking/restaurant twitters if I talk about my own cooking, but sometimes it seems to be completely and utterly random. Mostly I just ignore it, unless it's obviously spam in which case it gets banned.
